There are new policies and procedures that have now been implemented to permit us to resume providing and receiving massage therapy, all while keeping both myself and my clients safe through this pandemic. These are implemented by both the Ministry of Health and our regulatory body, the CMTO, and are subject to change as this pandemic evolves.
These include, but are not limited to, the pre-screening of clients before every treatment, increased frequency of hand-washing & cleaning practices, increased signage, documentation and record keeping of practices, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as face masks for myself and clients and additional health & safety training. If you do not wish to comply with any one of these new guidelines or do not pass the COVID-19 screening questionnaire, I have the right to refuse treatment.
New In Good Hands Massage Therapy Practice Guidelines.
1. You will receive a COVID-19 Pre-Screening Questionnaire 24hrs prior to your scheduled appointment time. THIS MUST BE FILLED OUT THE DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT. Upon entry to the clinic, we must go through the same screening questionnaire again, to make sure your health has not changed. If you find that your answer to a screening question has changed or the status of your health changes between when you booked your appointment and the day of, please notify me or cancel your appointment.
2. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive early, please remain in your car to help maintain social distancing measures. Please come in through the back door. (wheelchair accessible entrance)
3. Please arrive with your own disposable mask as it will be necessary for your treatment. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
4. You must sanitize or wash your hands immediately upon arrival and before entering the treatment room.
5. Cash and Cheques are still accepted methods of payment. E-transfer, Debit and Credit Cards are preferred at this time. Direct Billing is also available.
6. The clinic has implemented new strict cleaning and sanitizing measures to better serve and protect clients. There will be hand sanitizer readily available, all high traffic surfaces will be wiped down between clients and extra time is being allotted between each client to properly disinfect the clinic and limit interaction with other clients.
Sheets, face cradle cover, pillow case and blanket will all be replaced between clients and there will be a designated surface to place your belongings onto for the treatment.
I know this is a lot of information for a treatment meant to heal and reduce stress, but these new protocols are here to protect us all. The more diligent and careful we are, the quicker we get to the other side of this pandemic.
I can’t wait to see all your masked faces again soon!
Thank you all for you support and patience through these unprecedented times!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
